Short Stories about a Casino

I’ve been putting together some short story ideas and all of them take place in a casino. Not the same casino always, though. I was inspired because I am playing a lot of blackjack online with Litecoin.

My favorite so far is number 6, about the casino security guard who has to stop a thief. Here is a plot summary for that story idea.

In this story, the protagonist is a casino security guard named Jack. He has been working at the casino for years and has seen it all, but he is faced with a new challenge when a thief starts using magic tricks to steal from the guests. The thief’s tricks are so convincing that no one is able to catch him. Jack is determined to solve the mystery and bring the thief to justice.

One night, Jack is on patrol and sees the thief in action. He tries to catch him, but the thief gets away. Determined to catch him, Jack does some research and finds out that the thief used to be a magician before he turned to a life of crime. Jack realizes that the key to catching the thief is to understand his tricks.

With the help of a former magician, Jack trains to become a magician himself. He practices every day and finally feels confident enough to confront the thief. Jack puts on a magic show in the casino and invites the thief to come and see it. The thief takes the bait and shows up. Jack uses his magic skills to outwit the thief and finally catches him.

In the end, Jack is hailed as a hero and is offered a job as a professional magician. He declines, stating that his job as a security guard is what he loves most. The thief is sent to jail, and the guests are amazed by Jack’s bravery and quick thinking. The casino is a safer place, and Jack is happy knowing that he has made a difference.
