The skyline of Barcelona from the top of Tibidabo. Perhaps the most amazing part of this hilltop amusement park is the grand church that sits above it. If you climb to the top of the church, you are rewarded with stunning views of the city that sprawls out before you.
Water wheel in a peaceful garden in Tokyo, Japan. We should all be so lucky as to have the luxury of time to spend our afternoons in Japanese tea gardens. They are magical places in which to spend quiet time in contemplation and deep meditation.
Vall de Boi is a small area in the North of Spain known as the place where the Pyrenees touch the sky. It is a beautiful area of the countryside, nestled high up in the mountains. It’s best known for its early Romanesque churches and a breathtaking national park.
The outside of the Duomo, in Milan, Italy. It’s an impressive bit of architecture, dating back to the 14th century, but it took over 600 years to complete. Sometimes the Italians like to take their time.
One of my favorite 80’s movie scenes was from European Vacation, when Chevy Chase is stuck in Lambeth Bridge Roundabout in London and says, “Hey look kids, there’s Big Ben, and there’s Parliament… again.”
London is a wonderful city. We stopped there on our way back from Spain, where we visited Madrid and Cuenca.
It’s really too bad that so many people want to leave the EU and what a mess that Brexit has caused. At least it means cheaper travel for tourists in Great Britain!
